It was all go in my place yesterday. I hosted a Disco in my lounge for thirty 7yr olds.

Dom has had a big week last week. He went to Hamilton on Thursday to host The Brazillian Bus. Eight girls in a limo were taken to a Waxing place and they all got Brazillians before going out for a champagne brunch. The condition of Dom hosting (he volunteered!) was that he had to get a Manzillian. OMG. He came home from Hamilton BALD and with a butterfly adorned above it! They call that ‘bling my thing’. It’s very weird to look at.
Dom was also interviewed for the NZ Herald. Michele Hewitson came to our house and grilled Dom about all the naughty stuff he does on air. He was stoked to be in the ‘real’ part of the paper (instead of the gossip pages)

Now, back to the party.
Today is Seven’s 7th birthday. His friend Luke turned 7 about 10 days ago so we decided to have a joint birthday party. Sev and all his mates love music and dancing, and in particular, Michael Jackson, so Luke’s mum Sonya and I decided to host a DISCO together! My efforts to secure a suitable venue were fruitless, so our lounge won.
I hired disco lights, and black flouro lights, and put polythene up to black out the light from outside. I set up the video camera so the kids could watch themselves dance on the TV, and I put together a special playlist on the ipod with about 5 artists on rotate… Black Eyed Peas, Britney, Pink, Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga…
The kids loved it! But I had 30 boys in my lounge in the middle of a Summer’s day and it was HOT. Plus it was madness. They were all breakdancing on the carpet. It was quite funny to watch them really taking their dancing seriously and out-dancing each other.

Seven is absolutely nuts about Michael Jackson at the moment. Dom’s mum Sue made him a sparkly white glove and red jacket like Michael wore in the Thriller video. Sev was stoked.
He hasn’t taken it off!
