Seven’s 7th birthday party is one week away and we just sent out invites yesterday. I have to get organized! Sev’s friend Luke shares a birthday this month so we’re having a joint party. A disco! His mum Sonya and I are planning the party together. We’re getting a kick-ass cake made by Anita at http://www.nzcakes.com/. She makes the most incredible 3D cakes. She’s going to do a disco ball for the kids!
And my friend Patsy-Anne at http://www.clevercookie.co.nz/ is making cookie pops.
Sonya is in charge of the rest of the food because cooking is not my fortay unfortunately, and I am in charge of decorations. I’m thinking of blacking out the lounge with polythene and hiring disco lights. The kids will love it. They LOVE dancing!
I got my tickets for George Michael yesterday. He is playing in Sydney on Feb 26. The Sydney Football Stadium is a 46 000 capacity venue and I am in the 10th row from the front, next to the stage that sticks out into the crowd. Aaaarrrrggghhh!!! Insane. Of course I feel like a complete stalker because I saw George in Boston two years ago. FRONT ROW. If I had known he was coming this way, I would not have gone all the way over there. But anyhow… I was so nervous when he came out on stage in Boston because I was afraid I would throw up or cry… I didn’t know how I would react once I saw George in the flesh, for real. I was shaking, and was stunned, and my eyes watered up, but I wasn’t the hysterical fan I feared I’d be!

Dom’s sister Charlotte and her husband Nick moved back to NZ in December after years living in London. They brought home their 1yr old daughter Edie and have moved up the road from us. It’s so good having family in town for the first time in years. Charlotte and Nick got married on Dom’s birthday two years ago so they are celebrating their anniversary out of town for the weekend, leaving us with their baby. Up until two weeks ago, Dom and I have not looked after a baby for years and years. Never while we have been together. Edie stayed for a night two weeks ago and woke at 3am, 4am and 5.45am. I was so tired that day but we are having another shot and she is staying the weekend! She is such a good kid. Doesn’t cry, walks around happily. Easy to look after aside from the constant attention she needs. And the nappies… Dom refuses to change nappies so I’ve got that job and oh boy… baby pooh rocks doesn’t it?! Oh well, so far we are coping and enjoying her company. It’s good practice in case my next round of IVF works….
