Interesting day at work. Dom got suspended today. Lots of people assume it’s a ‘radio stunt’ to get ratings, but this one is for real.
Leon our boss HATES Dom's singing and his jingles. He told Dom that if he sang another jingle or song on air, he would get suspended without pay for a day. Dom tried to push for a three day weekend by singing a song on Thursday but Leon gave him a warning instead. Today, Dom sang a jingle about Alison Mau loving the ladies (to the tune of 'Single Ladies') Leon was furious, especially since Dom sang once again, and his song was offensive.

We had a handful of complaints from listeners, so Leon decided he would follow through on his threat. In our 10am after-show meeting Leon told Dom he was going to suspend him. Little did Leon know Dom had more plans to upset him….
Today was Leon’s birthday. Dom organized a special treat for him… an old lady stripper to show up to our 11.30 staff meeting!!! Leon was SO UNIMPRESSED. Just like Simon Cowell on American Idol he sat there expressionless for most of the time and then just when things looked like they were going to get really kinky, Leon signalled the ‘cut throat’ to Dom who had to stop the CD and send the old lady packing. Thankfully. It was starting to feel REAL uncomfortable!
So, by now, Dom was not Leon’s favourite person.

I’m nearing the end of my time on Jenny Craig. I started late August in the hope of losing almost 10 kilos. I was 69kgs at that point and wanted to get down to 60kgs. I was going well until Xmas but since then it’s been very hard to keep on track so I have stayed the same weight for about 7 weeks! 62 kgs. I’m thinking that must be my comfortable weight so I’m going to try to shake a few hundred grams this week and keep on the maintenance after this. I’ll let you know how I go next week! I feel really good about myself and bought three pairs of size 10 shorts from the mall yesterday. Pretty awesome!!
My injuries are healing well from my bike crash last week so I am planning on getting back on tomorrow or Wednesday. I’ll take it easy and ride around the park near the grass this time! Haha. The bike is getting lots of use though. Dom and out babysitter have been using it and taking Seven for rides on his bike. So we are getting on the bikes as much as we can for Bike Wise month. It’s quite good because usually Dom drives about 3kms to his sister’s house but he and Sev have been riding their bikes there. Saving gas and carbon emissions! Aren’t they good?
It’s Seven’s 7th birthday in a couple of weeks. (That’ll be confusing! Being called Seven and being seven!) He wants a disco. I am trying to organize something. I don’t really want it in my lounge but I haven’t found a suitable, affordable venue so the lounge it is! I’ll black out the windows and hire a disco ball or something. Gotta make it rock! If you have any ideas, please let me know. I am still new at this.
